Fashion and Surface Pattern Design

My great grandfather was a tailor and my aunts were exceptional seamstresses, crafting handsome clothing from what they could find, like their father’s old ties. My sisters and I learned to sew early, made most of our wardrobes. I’ve banked cherished memories of hours spent browsing fabrics and patterns in Penny’s basement, dreaming of our next outfits. As a college student, I learned silkscreen printing, an available option for limited fabric design. In 2008 Spoonflower began to offer custom print-on-demand digital fabric printing. In 2025 I took Bonnie Christine’s Immersion, an online class in surface pattern design which enabled me to begin experimenting with my long-held passion for fabric design.
